Bench School Week 5 Update

Week 5.

Where has the time even gone?

25 full days of learning what a flex shaft is, and how in the world to create so many things using it.

Week 5 began our fabrication time. This week, we took basic shanks and created unique and clever designs out them.

I never knew you could really carve a tiny banana into a band on a ring.

Who knew?

Well, probably just about anyone who works in jewelry but this jewelry thing is very new to me so I didn’t know.

Not only did we begin fabrication, but we learned how to set princess cuts (finally).

The women from 2007 getting married are THRILLED we finally learned such a skill.

Similar to how girls with oval cuts today will be so excited to see them one day when the trend returns in about 30 years.

Jewelry trends are my favorite trends.

Anyways, I’m getting off track.

Fabrication. Right.
